FINALLY!

Updates updates!

I've been down with really bad fever since a week ago. Well, today makes it a week and a day. The fourth day of the fever, ugly allergies appeared and I had to take antihistamines to make it better. The fifth day my breasts were swelling. The other days I've no other symptom than really high fever.

It's not urinary tract infection. It's not wound infection. My allergies are all better now. And my breasts aren't as engorged anymore. I've no reason to have a fever. But my temperature is still 38.8 C. I don't know what's up with that.

---

My Aunties and cousins from Canada are here for vacation!

Hoorah for good times! :)

Although, I won't be able to go malling with them. I won't even be able to attend a planned swimming party to celebrate mum and cousin Donna's birthdays!

But oh well.

---

I had my hair cut! Because mum said I look really "losyang" with super thick, long hair that's always tied up in a bun. She said I'm not taking care of myself enough. It's nice that I am spending my whole time taking care of Giann & Red but she's right when she said that in order to take care of them better and longer, I need to take care of myself too.

I don't always take her advice because I like to do things my way, but I took this one. :P

Booyahs:

Ate Kat, we're waiting for you na and for Kuya Pat too! :)

Ate, we miss you here. :(

I'M HOME! :D

So I'm here in our condo because I attended a meeting with the other teachers of this company I now "work" for. "Work" because I don't really work for them, and talking to someone in english for like 10-20 minutes is something I don't consider as work. ;) But it's good. I get half as much as I used to when I was still with The Firm and I only work 4 hours a day (only 3 hours if we don't count the breaks in between) so if I'll work for like 8 hours, I'd get just as much as I used to without having to commute every day for long hours, inhale the fumes of the doomed building and be all stressed out. Plus I get to be with Giann all the time! (except the 4 hours that I need to be on Skype) It's a pretty good deal. ;) My blood pressure's controlled now ever since I stopped working for The Firm. I'm not kidding.

Anyway, I was a little worried to leave Giann here at first because I was afraid that he'd throw tantrums and all but I came home from the meeting and I saw my giggling little bub playing with his Kuya EJ! Even my mum was ecstatic to see them playing because they were giggling and laughing and running! :)

---

I told my mum about Giann being all clingy to me and all she said was, "hay mahihirapan ka pag nanganak ka na..." but just that! She didn't say, "mali ka kasi...blah blah blah." I love how cool she is. How she doesn't underestimate me as a mother, how she continually reminds me of certain things but still letting me be in control and how she knows when to let me go and when to pull me back. She's the bestest. EVER. I'd be quick to admit that I can't top her!

---

I'm wearing my new Dorothy Perkins' mini dress and Giann spoilt it with chocolate. Haha. And it seemed like he knew that he did something wrong because he looked at me almost crying and I was like, "I'm not mad. It's just a dress. I love you more." Then he rubbed his chocolate-stained face on my dress, spoiling it even more. Hahaha.

because

I know this is like super weeks late but whatever. I just want to say that I don't like Twilight the movie. Not as much as I adore the books. I'm sorry Robert Pattinson fans (especially to my Baneneng) but he doesn't do MY Edward justice! Like really. Not even close to the Edward I had in mind when I was reading the book. Robert Pattinson burst my bubble more kthxbye.

But anyway, of course it is expected that the book is better. I'm not at all surprised. And of course the producers didn't have someone like me in mind when they came up with the movie. I'm not its target audience. Maybe if I'm like 15 or 16 then I would be drooling over (and writing his name inside tiny little hearts haha!) Robert Pattinson as Edward. So yeah, I forgive it.

---

I was in Rockwell yesterday, doing some early (well, okay this is relative) Christmas shopping and just because I want to go there. And man, as soon as I entered this toy store, like 10 of its sales people gathered around me, each one holding at least two toys to FORCE to me. Wow, do they really know how to harass a customer! I wonder if the first requirement to be a sales clerk is to pass the "how-to-harass-your-customers-101" training. But yeah, I ended up buying something for my big Kuya EJ and it's now sitting on our mini bar. :P

---

And I am like friggin tired. So goodnight good night.

move over leonardo!

I must've been an artist in my previous life.

Pau and I were in a bookstore looking for a sketchpad for his Art Appreciation class. Then all of a sudden I saw those blue staedler pencils!

Me: oh you need these pencils for sketching...
Pau: bakit?
Me: they're really made for sketching! they're sketch pencils!
Pau: ows? pano mo alam?
Me: *confused* ewan! basta alam ko lang!

Turns out I was right. The saleslady confirmed my "artist" instinct. Those blue staedler pencils really are for sketching.

Therefore I was an artist in my previous life. Bow.

Hahaha. Truth is, I think it was just pretty obvious that they are sketch pencils. Or maybe one of my subjects in college required me to use one. *shrugs*

---

Something I realised while watching Pau fit a 501:

I don't have a single pair of jeans.

I've thousand sweatpants, million tights, bazillion minis and gazillion dresses but NOT a pair of jeans.

Seriously.

I tried buying some. But I get home, try them on and realise I'm never going to wear them. So I give them away.

I hate jeans. They're rough on skin.

something from my mail #2

I have not logged on my Gmail for...months. I have avoided it for so long because I was too much of a chicken shit to face it. And of course you cannot relate! But anyways, I checked my mail for the first time after forever and saw this:

WHO WANTS TO FLY WITH ME?! :)

something from my mail

Hey Prinsesita,

Quick question: have you been happy with your experience on OkCupid? I ask because I just noticed that you haven't answered any match questions and you're probably not showing up in people's searches as much as you could be if you answered even just a few.

-Chris

Dear Chris,

I am not at all "happy" with OkCupid. Actually, I am not interested at all. In fact, the ONLY time I used OkCupid was when I took this "how addicted to World of Warcraft are you" test; which, by the way, suck big time because it gave us wrong results! Get your scoring right, man. So yeah, no more OkCupid quizzes for me! Stupid quizzes. :P

P.S. Whoever said I want to be "searched" anyways?

Love,
Prinsesita (thankyou for calling me little princess though :P)

happy/sad

Pau's out for the night ergo I have the internet connection all to myself. But I am not really thrilled. I prefer he's home. Doesn't matter if he does nothing but sit in front of his computer. I just want him here. This house gets ultimately depressing without Pau. After all, he's the reason why I'm here so him not being here is just... weird. And lonely. I look at the sleeping Giann beside me and all I want to do is pack all our things and go home. Pau should get back soon or I'll lose my mind here omg.

---

Anyway... On to happier things!

YOU'RE ALL INVITED TO ATTEND THE GRANDEST 1st BIRTHDAY OF ALL TIME!

I know I've already established this fact looong ago but: ISN'T GIANN THE CUTEST LITTLE GUY EVER! He's gotten so big now it's amazing. :)

Thanks "Auntie" Gill for the invitation! Do the pig! Do the pig! Hahaha. :P

---

Speaking of Gill.

Gill is 1/4 Chinese, 1/4 Japanese, 1/4 Korean and 1/4 Taiwanese! Yeah, she's confused like that. Hehe. :P

But I love her nonetheless. :)

Hana sans her uber expensive glasses! :P

---

No fridaysfeast for today boo.

Hmm. Then playing WoW I shall. ;)

Laters.

♥

so what happened?

Our friggin router's been screwed since a week ago and of course Pau thought he needs internet connection more than I do, therefore the DSL is connected straight to his PC. Well, actually he really NEEDS internet more. He'd die without it!

But then last night, Pau's PC won't turn on yet again. Ergo, Yeng wins! Haha. I have internet connection now yay! Poor Pau and lucky, lucky Yeng. :P

I've been very very busy with work and organising Giann's first birthday party. I was wrong when I thought that after signing a contract with T.G.I.Friday's and paying the down payment, everything's already settled. But mygod now I have invitations, cake, cupcakes, game prizes and loot bags to worry about! Also driving me insane is thinking and re-thinking (over and over) what my little bub will wear on his very special day! I'd be lying if I say that organising Giann's party doesn't make me go gaga because hell it does! But it's one of those things that make me crazy and I'm so loving it. :)

Oh on a very sad note:

I will miss this retro guy! :(

---

Last night I was so tired and feeling really really weak, I landed on my butt! RIGHT IN FRONT OF THE WHOLE SAN PEDRO MARKET! And they were like, "ooooh!!!" I didn't know whether to laugh or cry or die of embarrassment. Haha.

---

The soon-to-be birthday boy is sick too! With another viral infection plus coughs. :( You know what they say about someone always getting sick when it's just weeks before his birthday? Could be true for Giann. Or maybe, he's just really too young to fight all the bacteria and viruses in his environment. :(

---

Alrighty time to put Giann to sleep now. :)

of Facebook and fridaysfeast

Ironic how Facebook stopped being cool just when it became the "IT" social networking site. It was way much fun when I only had 12 friends on it! :P Superpoking people was fun! Giving and receiving those growing and hatching thingy was something I looked forward to. But now that over 40 people are sending me applications' requests and gifts, it's just not as interesting. It actually is annoying that I have 52 requests. Man.

It has become the new Myspace and screw Myspace. :P

I still adore my Sugarpie though! He's the cutest Haikoo pet EVER! And if only for him, I'd visit my Facebook every now and then. :)

Anyways...

I was supposed to post a "menu" from fridaysfeast but the Chef is on hiatus until next Friday so yeah.

---

Sighs. Such a boring Friday night. AND NO I DON'T WANT TO WORK ON MY THESIS JUST YET.

Procrastination is my middle name.

my brave big kuya EJ plus some

He's learnt to ice skate in 30 minutes! And he was not afraid! :D

See how EJ looks more confident and comfortable in the ice than Shobe? :P He actually learnt faster!

All thanks to his Kuya Pau. :)

Amazing how Pau can pull off being a good, reliable big brother to my siblings when he's been an unico hijo all his life. But yeah, it's nice. :)

---

Random things I've learnt:

- McDonald's in India is called McDees (or however they spell it. I have yet to confirm :P)

- Munyangit = whine in Tagalog (or is it, Hana?)

- Malunggay has like 1,000,005 uses/benefits and counting OMG! ;)

- "The Firm" Australia has the most organised (ergo, best) practice amongst all other "The Firm" firms worldwide ergo Markets Group Philippines wants to submit a letter of intent... to transfer companies! :P

- and last but not the least, I NEED TO FINISH MY THESIS THIS SEMESTER. Proposal, proposal defense, writing and defense. o.o

because that's what we do

I ENJOYED work today!

This is history.

God, please screw our network every day. :P Then we can spend the whole day in deep conversations about economics, culture, arts, religion and language! That is, if we're with the interns. If it's just Pol, Hana, Gill and myself, then we'd spend the whole day boss bashing. :P "Because that's what we do!" Haha.

I learnt something new today! Well, lots actually. :) Exactly why I love conversing with all types of people. Aside from learning what makes them tick, I love knowing what they know. So what if it has to do with Purchasing Power Parity (among other things)? Still is interesting, at least to a certain degree. :P

So yeah, today's a great day. Because conversations over coffee (so much more if it's free :P) is one of the few things I am real passionate about.

Because I'm boring like that! :P

P.S. I need to get a new ring.

please don't stop the music

So I'm still goddamn awake.

I blame it on the fact that I've stopped taking antihistamines since yesterday. Ergo, no instant sleeping pills for me. Last night, I've spent a couple of hours watching the raid from Mac's (meaning mine) PC hoping something will interest me because I was bored and itching and annoyed and mad. But sadly, nothing interesting happened until I was able to force my eyes shut. Tonight's actually one of the rare times that Pau's asleep before me. And it's also the first time in weeks when it's almost midnight and I'm still up and about. The past few weeks, come nine in the evening and I'm already in dreamland. Not tonight. And last night. Boo.

I blame it on this freakin allergies. My skin's so ugly just when it was almost stretch-marks-free. I was almost hysterical because I can finally wear minis again since god knows when. Then this happened. I took photos of my allergies but they're too ugly to be shown.

I blame it on my work and how I've spent days doing this Midyear Business Review and pretending and forcing myself to know about it (as if I care really) and attending meetings with high-end people from all over listening to them discuss about the most uninteresting topics - from Shareholder Value Awards to tax issues to whines about The Firm's services to gossips. Argh. I'm actually attending yet another lunch meeting tomorrow to "discuss" one of those issues. Save me from the fires of hell!!!

I blame it on the past week when I've slept for 9-10 hours a day. Last Thursday I've spent the WHOLE day sleeping. Like for real. So now, the sleep bugs aren't coming to visit me anytime soon.

I blame it on a lot of things. I blame it on myself.

Please, just let me sleep now.

Good night world.

conversations

I was in a cab on my way to Rockwell for a meeting when heavy rain poured. It was so heavy it's like they're screaming as they touch the windshield. I was irate. I never liked rains. They're too melancholic and they make me lethargic AND they soil my shoes. But this conversation transpired:

driver: ang lakas ng ulan ah...
me: oo nga eh.
*the driver then looked around and seemed like saw something that amazed him*
driver: tuwang-tuwa ang mga puno!

His comment made me look outside the window and observed the trees for good minutes. And for some reason, I agree with him. The trees really did look happy. And it made me smile.

The rain isn't so bad after all. :)

---

Tonight's the first time I'm going to miss a get together with my (boy) friends. I have 5 reasons:

1. Giann :)
2. I'm down with bad colds and sore throat.
3. It has been a really long week for me at work you'd think I'd be thrilled to celebrate the weekend but not really. Not that kind of celebration anyways.
4. I just don't feel like going out, watch them drink and hear all these WoW talks (until the wee hours) as if I haven't had enough of it.
5. I just want to stay at home, really.

Man I am so getting old! I'm starting to tone down. Not a bad thing, yeah? ;)

---

My friends when they learnt I'm heading home and not joining them for the night, whined.

Me: I have a baby to attend to! *points at Pau* He does not have one!

That made them laugh.

Reality's amusing, amazing and annoying all at the same time.

wow how long has it been...

So I re-read my last entry and noticed that it has been 10 days since I last blog! The diligent office girl in me killed the super blogger!

Boo you KPMG Philippines for blocking Blogspot! :( (I know it's shameless marketing :P)

Oh. I should just update on Twitter then. :P During office hours that is.

Anyway, I really not have much to tell about my new job. I can easily sum it up in 4 words: I am swamped with work.

But weird as it may sound I am liking it. I actually have just one reason why I sometimes dislike my busy schedule...

Yeah you know it. :(

true story

It was one of the nights when Mac stayed here to play WoW. I was trying to put Giann to sleep - rocking him while singing him a lullaby. And believe me, when I sing him a lullaby, I do it real passionately haha. As if it's the most beautiful love song in the world. ;) Always does the trick!

M: Hindi ko ma-imagine na ganyan si V.
P: *laughs* Bakit?
M: Yung ganyan, pakanta-kanta, sayaw-sayaw... Parang hindi bagay, nyay!
Me: Naku, e di wag ka muna mag anak noh! Mahirap yan!
P: Eh bakit ba si Yeng? Iisipin mo bang magiging ganyan yan dati, sa arte nyan!
M: *laughs* sabagay.
Me: ano yun???
M: wala... *laughsharder*

Yes Pau and Mac, I heard you very well!!!

All I can say: you love me nonetheless. *flipshair*

working mum

So I am here at the office. It’s lunch time so I can surf. :P I must say I’m doing fine. Good actually. :) And I just called the maid and found out that my little boy is sleeping. I am relieved. Also, a text message from Pau (and Giann :P) helped a great deal. Thanks daddy and baby! :)

My officemates are as nice as officemates can get. We just went through the whole “lunch-together-let’s-talk-about-the-newbie” session. :P It was… relieving and refreshing in some way. I also like one of Honda’s Central HR, Ms. K is super nice! She’s also a Kulasa! Figures! :P Haha.

It feels good to be working again. Although hmm… I know I have yet to experience “real" work in a few weeks, I am not appalled. I say bring it on! ;)

P.S. I do miss Giann but I know I should not worry too much.

Love,
the working super mum

cuteness

I hope Giann would be this cute when he grows up. Hehe. But I'm certain he'd be cuter! ;) Plus, he'd have fairer skin tone. And almond eyes. ♥

I'd definitely teach him "how NOT to close your eyes when you're having your photo taken!" Haha. And how to smile like he means it! :P Man, I can't wait for Giann to grow up! But at the same time, I can. :)

P.S. I can't be biased. Despite me not liking Pau the past days, I still think he looks cute in this photo.

sunburnt

Because I was so eager to go home yesterday, I talked Pau into riding a non-airconditioned bus. He was reluctant at first but when I'm eager, I won't take no for an answer and he knew it. So we rode a non-airconditioned Dela Rosa bus on our way home. I was super giddy as I felt the wind blowing on my face and I didn't mind that it would mess my hair up! I was happy and I felt like I was in a rollercoaster haha. But an hour on that bus ride and this is how my right arm looks like now:

We were seated on the side where the sun was shining. It was 2 in the afternoon! I love the sun and I would've liked it if he kissed me ALL OVER. Then I would have an early "summer skin." But instead, he made my right arm look like a chiffon slice. Grats me.

Now, Pau would tease me by singing "uling uling uling ulinglingling..." Before it was "chingching taba taba chingching..." Yeah, we watch those Sexbomb series on TV. :P

I am now officially a chiffon cake. thankyouverymuch.

Oh. Here's another photo. ;) NOT of my right arm!

I LOVE HIM TO BITS!

He's payat now cause he was sick (and was hospitalised) for a week. The reason why I wasn't an active blogger for days.

yes?

"Some people believe that without history, our lives amount to nothing. At some point we all have to choose: do we fall back on what we know, or do we step forward to something new? It's hard not to be haunted by our past. Our history is what shapes us... what guides us. Our history resurfaces time after time after time. So we have to remember sometimes the most important history is the history we’re making today. " - Meredith, Grey's Anatomy

Ah. I love them script writers.
