i adore(d) Sex and the City.

The challenge in life is to find someone who would still hold your hand despite the years. Even though his ice cream melted while waiting for you because you want to find a pair of good shoes. Which would only mean you're waaay more important than friggin DQ ice cream. Which SHOULD be the case, anyways. He won't purposely walk fast for you to fall behind because he knows you're carrying an uber heavy bag and shopping bags. He will ESPECIALLY wait for you when you're about to cross the street because you've just learnt the art of crossing streets 3 years ago.

Ah, it's so hard to find someone like that. Or is it, really?

That even if you've known someone since ancient times, still won't guarantee he'd be that.

Believe me, I so know.

The end.

of Facebook and fridaysfeast

Ironic how Facebook stopped being cool just when it became the "IT" social networking site. It was way much fun when I only had 12 friends on it! :P Superpoking people was fun! Giving and receiving those growing and hatching thingy was something I looked forward to. But now that over 40 people are sending me applications' requests and gifts, it's just not as interesting. It actually is annoying that I have 52 requests. Man.

It has become the new Myspace and screw Myspace. :P

I still adore my Sugarpie though! He's the cutest Haikoo pet EVER! And if only for him, I'd visit my Facebook every now and then. :)

Anyways...

I was supposed to post a "menu" from fridaysfeast but the Chef is on hiatus until next Friday so yeah.

---

Sighs. Such a boring Friday night. AND NO I DON'T WANT TO WORK ON MY THESIS JUST YET.

Procrastination is my middle name.

xoxo

Super Ate Mich

Happy happy 26th birthday Ate! ♥

I love you.

Happy 24th Winnie! ;)

unrequited

I typed a really harsh entry while I was at the office but deleted it right after. I realised I shouldn't be too harsh and unforgiving for several reasons. Giann being the first.

ANYWAY.

Someone came up to me while I was TRYING to do Industry Updates:

"Is everything okay?"

"Sure."

"Really? You seem different..."

"Hmmm..."

"Ah now I'm sure something's wrong..."

"And you know that because?"

"You gave me your 'hmm' answer!"

"I'm fine, really."

"You're a bad liar, you know that?"

I had to laugh. I maintain that I am a good liar. :P But I cannot conceal my emotions. So there.

---

I probably looked really sad because I left my phone and when I got home and got hold of it, I have a miss call from someone and a message saying he called to aide me up.

---

I can't believe how much I am overeating. :( I had rice and hotdogs and egg for breakfast then as soon as I got to the office I ate doughnuts with Gill and then Smorgasbord for lunch. Then 8 pieces of siomai for a really late snack! WOW so much food shortage Gill! :P

---

On to happier things:

Isn't he the cutest little guy in the entire Universe? :D

and he's helpful

Today I’ve spent lunch time with an Indian intern and I realised that when you’re somewhat confused and keep on double-guessing your decision and here comes someone from a totally different perspective who tells you, “I think you did what should be done.” And he may not entirely agree with EVERYTHING and you may not be able to tell him EXACTLY how you feel and why you did what you did and everything that happened in between but even with his bleak understanding of what you’re going through he gives you a good, firm nod, it makes you believe that yeah, you indeed did the right thing. You may never even come close to guessing how relieving it is. But of course you’d still feel pangs of negative emotions every now and then but you always go back to that one fateful lunch with someone who doesn’t share anything in common with you yet believes in your decision, you know you’re in the right path.

P.S. Although somewhere along the conversation, healthy, sad tears sprang and towards the end he was like, “okay enough torturing the napkin” and I, unaware of what I was doing, looked at the torn napkin with strong holes all over it, blushed.

Super P.S. And yes Hana, it's because you don't want to eat lunch with me anymore that I'm stuck with my new bestfriends. :P Although I admit, N is helpful.

the truth is...

I was never fed up.

I am not fed up.

And I don't think I ever will be.

---

I spent the whole day making logos for our newest project "FOH" ;) And I would love to render them in Photoshop and post them here but I'm too busy with Prinsesita. Hehe.

So maybe tomorrow beautiful blog. :)

Good night.

QC addict

Here's one of my favourite strips of Questionable Content. And yeah, it's because of the dialogue. BETWEEN TWO GUYS.

There.

Speaking of guys who are crazy in-love... I have a "friend" (yeah we're kind of like friends now actually :P) who would literally go out of his way for a girl. Like follow her to another country. For REAL. And while he was telling me about his plans, I looked in his eyes and I was amazed to see how in-love he is. His eyes were shining and he was so excited and nervous it was crazy. He is CRAZY. I mean, only my dad would follow me anywhere in the world if I decide to run away from him! :P Haha. Hmm. Maybe Pau will too, but it all depends on WHERE I decide to run off to, yeah Pau? :P

Ahh love. Crazy.

The Forbidden Fruit Tastes the Sweetest

Generally speaking, I am actually quite a patient person.

BUT NO I CANNOT WAIT FOR DECEMBER 12 ANYMORE!

But I get your point Controlling Forces of the Universe and therefore I shall wait (as if you give me any other choice, really) and while I do this shall suffice for the next few months:

When you can live forever, what do you live for?

Haaay.

my brave big kuya EJ plus some

He's learnt to ice skate in 30 minutes! And he was not afraid! :D

See how EJ looks more confident and comfortable in the ice than Shobe? :P He actually learnt faster!

All thanks to his Kuya Pau. :)

Amazing how Pau can pull off being a good, reliable big brother to my siblings when he's been an unico hijo all his life. But yeah, it's nice. :)

---

Random things I've learnt:

- McDonald's in India is called McDees (or however they spell it. I have yet to confirm :P)

- Munyangit = whine in Tagalog (or is it, Hana?)

- Malunggay has like 1,000,005 uses/benefits and counting OMG! ;)

- "The Firm" Australia has the most organised (ergo, best) practice amongst all other "The Firm" firms worldwide ergo Markets Group Philippines wants to submit a letter of intent... to transfer companies! :P

- and last but not the least, I NEED TO FINISH MY THESIS THIS SEMESTER. Proposal, proposal defense, writing and defense. o.o

last night's photos

Pol and Gill after taking a "bath" :P

He was trying to do the "Mr. Pogi" hand gesture

Hana and Joel all cozy on their side of the table (all 6 of us were seated in a 2-seater table!)

Binagoongan rice (Nikhil calls it "binagoong paste rice" haha)

The siomai was yummy! And I'm all wet from the uber heavy rain

Gill was trying her hardest to not drink beer! :P

Thanks Hana for introducing Som's to us! Let's hope it won't rain next time! :P

I WAS OUT FOR THE NIGHT!

Today's the first time I spent a night out with friends. Well, at least after the LONGEST time. So long I actually forgot when was the last time I went out for the night and went home around midnight! I'm proud of myself. :P And although it's a fact that I felt a bit guilty for not being the one to put Giann to sleep, I kind of believe I owe myself a break. Not really from motherhood but from work and insert-all-other-stressful-matters-here.

So tonight's a grand time! And it was also the first time in YEARS when I got to walk/run/scream in the rain! I should feel annoyed but nope, not really. ;)

Good conversation + good cheap food + good fun + good company = grand time.

Alrighty I'm retiring to bed.

xoxo

P.S. Hana, you know I need our "pair" photos tonight. I owe them to this blog! :P

because that's what we do

I ENJOYED work today!

This is history.

God, please screw our network every day. :P Then we can spend the whole day in deep conversations about economics, culture, arts, religion and language! That is, if we're with the interns. If it's just Pol, Hana, Gill and myself, then we'd spend the whole day boss bashing. :P "Because that's what we do!" Haha.

I learnt something new today! Well, lots actually. :) Exactly why I love conversing with all types of people. Aside from learning what makes them tick, I love knowing what they know. So what if it has to do with Purchasing Power Parity (among other things)? Still is interesting, at least to a certain degree. :P

So yeah, today's a great day. Because conversations over coffee (so much more if it's free :P) is one of the few things I am real passionate about.

Because I'm boring like that! :P

P.S. I need to get a new ring.

the donkey and the carrot

Days ago, one of our Indian interns told us an analogy about the donkey and the carrot in relation to making a relationship work. The donkey being your partner; you being the "driver" of the donkey and a carrot as a means to "control" your donkey. He said if your donkey doesn't want to obey you, you must make him by using a carrot.

Today, I amended his story:

"You know what I think? If your donkey's too stubborn to follow you, just get off the donkey and find a new one to ride!"

He laughed and said, "All donkeys get smart, you know."

It was my turn to laugh. Well, I wasn't being serious to begin with.

Seriously, I don't believe there are formulas to relationships. What works for one may not work for all. Each relationship is different as each person involved in them is, too. No analogy can guarantee that a relationship will be successful. No theory can ensure a relationship will work. Only the people involved in it can.

P.S. Hana suggested, "how about hitting the donkey with the carrot? HARD ON THE HEAD!"

---

Today I also learnt that some things aren't what they seem. And most of the time, just when you're uber sure you guessed right, you thought wrong. :)

xoxo

my take

I'm actually relieved that Pol and Hana will just transfer departments and not leave The Firm for good. Of course, Markets won't be as fun without them but doesn't make that much difference if they're just a local away (even a few steps away if I'm not as lethargic! :P)

It would've been better if they'd just stay in Markets of course. But for everyone's sake and sanity, whatever and whenever they choose to be, I'd be happy for them, really. :) As long as we still eat lunch together! :P And probably go to Embassy together too! Haha.

Hana, Gill, Yeng and Pol doing his re-enactment of Cosmo's hunk thingy! :P

Inside the elevator that injured bazillions (Pol included)

CRL's angels! Hahaha. Yeah Hana? :P

WALKING AWAY IS THE BEST PART OF EACH AND EVERY DAY. Especially on a Friday!

mother

Happy Mother's day! :)

Kahlil Gibran's poem on children (one of mum's and mine's favourite poems)

Your children are not your children.
They are the sons and daughters of Life's longing for itself.
They come through you but not from you,
And though they are with you yet they belong not to you.

You may give them your love but not your thoughts,
For they have their own thoughts.
You may house their bodies but not their souls,
For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow,
which you cannot visit, not even in your dreams.
You may strive to be like them,
but seek not to make them like you.
For life goes not backward nor tarries with yesterday.

You are the bows from which your children
as living arrows are sent forth.
The archer sees the mark upon the path of the infinite,
and He bends you with His might
that His arrows may go swift and far.
Let our bending in the archer's hand be for gladness;
For even as He loves the arrow that flies,
so He loves also the bow that is stable.

100

It was surprisingly easy yet it's one of the hardest things I've EVER done. Still is.

Holed.

---

This is my 100th post! :P Wow.

---

Mac was right about powder making the itch a bit bearable. But now that Pau's out (with Mac) and no one's applying powder on me, I'm starting to itch again. :( Get home soon!

FRIGGIN ALLERGIES. My skin looks terrible. And feels much worse.

Oh Hana, where are our photos?! :P

please don't stop the music

So I'm still goddamn awake.

I blame it on the fact that I've stopped taking antihistamines since yesterday. Ergo, no instant sleeping pills for me. Last night, I've spent a couple of hours watching the raid from Mac's (meaning mine) PC hoping something will interest me because I was bored and itching and annoyed and mad. But sadly, nothing interesting happened until I was able to force my eyes shut. Tonight's actually one of the rare times that Pau's asleep before me. And it's also the first time in weeks when it's almost midnight and I'm still up and about. The past few weeks, come nine in the evening and I'm already in dreamland. Not tonight. And last night. Boo.

I blame it on this freakin allergies. My skin's so ugly just when it was almost stretch-marks-free. I was almost hysterical because I can finally wear minis again since god knows when. Then this happened. I took photos of my allergies but they're too ugly to be shown.

I blame it on my work and how I've spent days doing this Midyear Business Review and pretending and forcing myself to know about it (as if I care really) and attending meetings with high-end people from all over listening to them discuss about the most uninteresting topics - from Shareholder Value Awards to tax issues to whines about The Firm's services to gossips. Argh. I'm actually attending yet another lunch meeting tomorrow to "discuss" one of those issues. Save me from the fires of hell!!!

I blame it on the past week when I've slept for 9-10 hours a day. Last Thursday I've spent the WHOLE day sleeping. Like for real. So now, the sleep bugs aren't coming to visit me anytime soon.

I blame it on a lot of things. I blame it on myself.

Please, just let me sleep now.

Good night world.

xoxo
